A class account is a user account in CSE's UDB where the nominal owner is not an actual flesh-and-blood person, but is instead a teaching class, such as COMP1511. Commonly these accounts are used to host assignment data files to be distributed to students, and for tutors and lectures to do other undefined "work".

Users cannot use zID/zPass to log in to these accounts and generally use SSH instead after their SSH key has been added to authorized_keys by an administrator.
