In the current revamp-CSE's-IT-infrastructure project, the term Old World refers to implementation of different bits of technology. In particular:

  • conform to manage all installed software and configurations on hosts,
  • Naming of servers after composers, labs after musical instruments or instrument types, and infrastructure support systems after musical accessories (such as baton, bandstand, etc.), and
  • VMWare to virtualise hosts.
